Enjoy a different genre of live roots music each week, and learn about the various styles from local scholars and the artists themselves.  We’ll have light bites for purchase, a cash bar, and a dance floor for those who are so inclined.  See the full schedule here.

*VeraCruz Blues*

Formed in 2013, VeraCruz Blues came together in an international music scene that was missing a band that combined the cultures on both sides of the border while keeping a true soulful Afro-Latino essence.  With a multicultural background and influences rooted in México, Veracruz, Latin-America, Spain, the Middle-East, the United States, and California with a strong Afro-Mestizo identity and Soul, VeraCruz Blues is a powerful band for social change and activism in the Californias on both sides of the border.  Their versatile style of music covers everything from Salsa and bolero to more obscure genres like the Trova, and their unique ensemble and sound combines the best of rhythm and melody to create their unique Latin, Bluesy style.  The group has an incredible range of cultural influences, and often integrates harp, violin, saxophone clarinet or flute in addition to the usual percussion, bass, lead and rhythm guitar.  These influences, impacted by their experiences and struggles with the “American Dream,” have made VeraCruz Blues one of the most popular bands in the San Diego music scene.
