Thank you for your interest in the Women’s Arts Council (WAC) of the California Center for the Arts, Escondido!
WAC was formed by a group of women who not only have a passion for the arts, but who also want to give back to the community. They believe strongly in the mission of the Center for the Arts as a major cultural center. Many of the women involved have a long-standing history with the Center, and some are newer to the table. All value the arts and art education.
The Center for the Arts is much more than a theater. In fact, we have two theaters, the larger Concert Hall that seats up to 1500, and the smaller, more intimate Center Theater that seats 400. The Center also houses a museum, an education department, and a conference center.
The Women’s Arts Council recognizes what a valuable asset the Center is for the community. Their commitment goes beyond patronage. Their desire is to be an active, involved component in shaping and molding the Center into a recognized forum for the surrounding communities.
If you have a passion for the arts, education, or making a difference — or if you are looking to be a part of a group of forward-thinking women focused on things that matter — why not consider membership in the Women’s Arts Council? Membership involves a $1,000 a year financial commitment (about $2.84 per day – far less than a cup of Starbucks), payable over the course of the year. Luncheons, on site at the Center, occur several times throughout the year, highlighted by a “behind the scenes” tour, “meet the artist,” or relevant lecture. Board members and the Center’s Executive Director attend, giving you direct access to the highest managers and decision makers for the complex.
Why not attend our next WAC luncheon and bring your thoughts, ideas, questions and interest? We would love to meet you and help you decide if our group is a good fit for you.
