For Immediate Release: The California Center for the Arts, Escondido Kicks Off the 2018-2019 Season with “One of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time”, Ry Cooder!

Escondido, California — :

Multiple Grammy winner Ry Cooder with Joachim Cooder will be kicking off the 2018-19 Performing Arts Season at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at 7:30pm.

Ry Cooder is an American musician, songwriter, record producer, and film score composer best known for his unparalleled skill on the slide guitar. Cooder has been the recipient of six Grammy Awards and praised for his work producing the classic album Buena Vista Social Club.

Cooder has also played with a long list of legendary artists such as The Rolling Stones, Van Morrison, Neil Young, Randy Newman, and so many more. Joining Ry Cooder on stage will be Joachim Cooder, son and chief collaborator, where they will be showcasing his newest album, The Prodigal Son, with original and adapted gospel favorites.

Cooder will be performing at the Center’s Concert Hall on Sunday, August 19th, 2018 at 7:30 PM. Don’t miss this musical veteran’s performance that is sure to be inspirational and exhilarating!

The entire “2018-19 Presented Season” will be officially announced to the public on Tuesday, June 12, 2018. Members of the California Center for the Arts, Escondido will have an opportunity to purchase tickets during a 2-week pre-sale starting on June 12, 2018 and the public will get to purchase tickets for the new season starting June 26, 2018.
