Gallery on the Green

At the California Center for the Arts, Escondido, it’s our mission to bring the community together to discover, create, and celebrate the arts together.  

It’s our priority to make the arts available to everyone – promoting appreciation for the performing and visual arts and enhancing the quality of life in our community. 

We invite you to share your creative spirit with us and participate in our newest community art project, Gallery on the Green

Gallery on the Green is a FREE outdoor art installation – for the community, and by the community – displayed on the perimeter of our On The Green venue space {at Grape Day Park} in Escondido.  

 

Gallery On The Green Opportunity Details

 

  • Develop an artistic 3’x3’ piece that “Inspires, Uplifts, and Celebrates our Community.” Using any medium of choice. You may take and create more than one panel if you so choose.

 

  • Generate work that is artistically engaging and sufficiently stimulating to ignite conversation, foster interaction, and evoke appreciation by the general public.

 

  • Given the expected attention that Gallery On The Green will attract, artist agrees to participate in any press/media related opportunities as they arise including, but not limited to, print, radio/tv interviews and discussions/presentations, as deemed necessary by California Center for the Arts, Escondido.

 

  • California Center for the Arts, Escondido will cover the cost of the 3’x3’ panel. Artist will be responsible for materials outside of the 3’x3’ panel.

This opportunity is open to all artists or artist teams who reside in San Diego County without preference to racial or ethnic origins, gender, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, disability. Artists must be 18 years of age or older or have the permission of their parent or legal guardian.

 

 

Ownership

100% of the artwork produced, in whatever stage of completion, shall become the property of the California Center for the Arts, Escondido. The California Center for the Arts, Escondido shall be the sole and exclusive owner of the 3’x3’ art panel. In addition, artist will represent being the sole author of the artwork. All services must be original by artist and not copied in whole or in part from any other work.

 

Timeline (subject to change)

April 7th-15th                     Canvas pick up from DayDream located at 233 E Grand Ave, Escondido, CA 92025 during their normal business hours.

 

April 21st-25th           Completed murals to be dropped off at the Center Museum located at between… list hours

 

April 22nd-April 29th           Installation of all art pieces

April 30th                 Installation completed

April 30th-TBD          Art is displayed and open to the public
