For Immediate Release: The Center Receives the Accredited Charity Seal from BBB

Escondido, California — :

The California Center for the Arts, Escondido (the Center) has officially received the Accredited Charity Seal from the Better Business Bureau. The Center met all of the accountability standards set by the San Diego Better Business Bureau Foundation, which were developed to help donors make informed giving decisions and promotes high standards of conduct among organizations that solicit contributions from the public.

There are a number of requirements that must be fulfilled in order for an organization to meet the Standards and receive the Seal including an active independent volunteer board, achievement of measurable goals, clearly defined objectives and mission statement, financial soundness and fundraising.

“This is truly an exciting growth period for the Center,” says Executive Director Jerry Van Leeuwen. “It’s been a big year with a stellar performing arts season, a bustling conference center, great education programs and four fantastic museum exhibitions. This accolade is another sign that the Center is thriving within the community and succeeding in its mission of bringing people together to discover, create and celebrate both the visual and performing arts.”

The BBB Wise Giving Alliance produces reports about national charities, evaluating them against comprehensive Standards for Charity Accountability, and publishes a magazine, the Wise Giving Guide, three times a year. Locally, the reports are produced by BBB of San Diego, Orange and Imperial Counties.
