Escondido, California — :

Buddy Guy makes his way to the California Center for the Arts, Escondido on Monday, March 12, 2018 at 7:30pm!

Buddy Guy is a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, a major influence on rock titans like Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, and Stevie Ray Vaughan, a pioneer of Chicago’s fabled West Side sound, and a living link to the city’s halcyon days of electric blues. Buddy Guy has received 7 Grammy Awards, a 2015 Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award, 34 Blues Music Awards (the most any artist has ever received), and the Billboard Magazine Century Award for distinguished artistic achievement, a Kennedy Center Honor, and the Presidential National Medal of Arts. Rolling Stone Magazine ranked him #23 in its “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.” Eric Clapton once described him as “the best guitar player alive.”

Opening this explosive show are the wonderful melodies of Brandy Zdan. Zdan, a native Canadian who resides in Nashville, and has garnered critical acclaim as one half of the gothic folk/roots group Twilight Hotel. Her solo work has seen her as a “one-woman tour de force” (LoneStarMusic) and she has been nominated for several Juno Awards (Canadian Grammys). Spin Magazine described her extremely popular single “More of a Man” as “fetching pop/rock melodies over production that’s almost new wave-reminiscent in its sparkling cleanliness.”
