City Ballet of San Diego presents Giselle

On Sale 9/1/2025
One of ballet’s romantic masterworks, City Ballet of San Diego’s full-length production tells the story of life, death, and redemption.
Giselle (Full-Length Ballet)
One of the most beloved romantic classical story ballets of all time, Giselle is the story of a beautiful young peasant girl and a disguised nobleman who fall in love. When the nobleman’s identity is revealed, Giselle goes mad and dies of heartbreak. After her death, she is summoned from her grave into the vengeful, deadly sisterhood of the Wilis, the ghosts of unmarried women who died after being betrayed by their lovers and take revenge in the night by dancing men to death by exhaustion.
Choreography: Elizabeth Wistrich (2009) after Jules Perrot, Jean Coralli, and Marius Petipa
Music: Giselle (1841) by Adolphe Adam
