From Page to Space: Drawing & Design for Storytelling

This 8-week course is rooted in the instructor’s experience as both a visual artist and theater educator, including exhibiting work at CCAE’s Día de los Muertos Festival and teaching set design at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido.
Students will explore drawing as a way to observe, imagine, and tell stories. Beginning with the fundamentals of line, shape, value, composition, and observation, participants will gradually build their skills while exploring how artists and designers create mood, character, and space through visual storytelling.
Classes meet Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. from July 8 through August 26. Participants may register for the full 8-week course for $225 or attend individual sessions for $35 per class.
