Monoprinting: The Paul Klee Method

Discover the art of linear monoprinting in this hands-on workshop led by Luis Santiago, instructor of CCAE’s popular Kintsugi workshops.
Paul Klee was a pioneering 20th-century artist who experimented with and popularized linear monoprinting, a technique that combined drawing, inking, and color transfer to create unique, one-of-a-kind prints. This workshop introduces students to an artistic method used by Paul Klee and other renowned artists.
The instructor has expanded upon this technique by creating a process that allows students to incorporate their own imaginative elements, making each artwork unique. Participants will learn about the work of Paul Klee, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, and other artists who utilized monoprinting in their art.
All materials needed to create twelve 6″ x 9″ art pieces will be provided. Each student will also receive one 5″ x 7″ black frame.
