Led by professional vocalist and vocal coach Alexis Joi Ham, the Power of Voice Workshop is a transformative four-week experience designed for singers, speakers, and performers looking to strengthen their vocal presence, confidence, and delivery. Through a unique blend of breathwork, mindset coaching, and vocal mastery techniques, participants will learn to harness the full power of their voices—whether on stage, in the classroom, or in everyday communication. This interactive workshop culminates in a live performance, allowing students to showcase their growth in an inspiring and supportive setting.
About the Artist
Alexis Joi is a powerhouse vocalist, dynamic performer, and sought-after vocal coach, known for her ability to inspire, uplift, and transform voices. As a professional artist, her original work has been featured on hit television shows, including CBS’s God Friended Me and Amazon’s hit series Cross, showcasing her soul-stirring sound to audiences worldwide.
With a deep-rooted foundation in gospel and jazz, Alexis seamlessly blends artistry with technique, captivating listeners and empowering aspiring vocalists. As a vocal coach, she integrates mindset coaching, breathwork, and holistic spiritual elements into her signature method, helping speakers, singers, and professionals unlock the full strength of their voices.

Know Before You Go
We’re thrilled to welcome you to the Power of Voice Workshop Series at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido! To help you fully immerse yourself in this experience, here’s what to know before you arrive—
What to Bring:
- Water Bottle – Hydration is key to vocal health.
- Notebook & Pen – Take notes on vocal techniques and personal insights.
- Personal Writings – Poems, journal entries, or loose thoughts—anything you’d like to explore and translate into song through improvisational singing.
- Comfortable Clothing – Wear something that allows for movement, light stretching, and breathwork.
- Open Mind & Willing Spirit – This journey is about confidence, creativity, and personal breakthrough.
How to Prepare:
- Stay Hydrated – Start drinking plenty of water in the days leading up to the workshop.
- Rest Your Voice – Avoid excessive talking, shouting, or whispering before the session.
- Light Stretching – A relaxed body supports a more powerful voice.
- Arrive Early – Give yourself time to settle in and be fully present.
Directions: This event takes place in Studio 1 at the CCAE Studios, NOT in the Concert Hall or Center Theater.
Please note that entry through the Museum is not guaranteed. The most reliable way to access the studios is by parking in the Center’s Main Parking Lot, located further northeast near the James A. Stone swimming pool. From there, walk across the footbridge that connects to Grape Day Park.
Enter the studios through the green gate. As you walk in, the studio buildings will be on your right, numbered in descending order from 4 to 1—Studio 1 is the fourth door on your right.
