XICANA! San Diego

ESMoA and The California Center for the Arts Present: XICANA! San Diego

Curated by Dulce Stein

June 21 – November 2, 2025

XICANA! San Diego explores the powerful intersection of art and cultural identity through the lens of Chicana artists. Curated by Dulce Stein and organized by ESMoA and The California Center for the Arts, Escondido, this exhibition will celebrate resilience, identity, and vision through work in all media, including painting, textiles, photography, sculpture, performance, film, and poetry.

Call for Art:

We invite Chicana artists living or working in San Diego County to submit work that encapsulates the spirit and ingenuity of the Chicana experience. This is your invitation to share your vision, to reclaim narratives, and to ignite dialogue that spans borders and generations.

We are seeking work in all forms and media. Paintings, textiles, photography, sculpture, performance, film, poetry, and beyond that encapsulate the spirit and ingenuity of the Chicana experience. This exhibition will honor the intersections of identity, challenge stereotypes, and amplify the power of collective storytelling.

Your art has the capacity to provoke, to heal, and to inspire. Whether you are an emerging creator or a celebrated visionary, your voice matters, and we are here to provide the platform it deserves.
