Escondido, CA – The California Center for the Arts, Escondido invites you to an informative and inspiring Museum Talk on Aquaponics and Permaculture Design with Artist-in-Residence Michael Nauert on November 24, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. This thought-provoking event draws inspiration from the ecological work of renowned environmental artists Helen and Newton Harrison, offering valuable insights into sustainable practices.

Michael Nauert will explore the principles of aquaponics and permaculture design, showing how these systems can be used to promote ecological balance and sustainable food production. His own aquaponics installation, featured in the Community Art Lab, serves as a live demonstration of these concepts in action.

Following the talk, guests are invited to a gallery feast in the Museum Courtyard, where they can enjoy tea and herbs harvested from Nauert’s aquaponics installation. It’s a chance to savor locally sourced refreshments while learning about sustainable growing practices and how they connect art with ecology.

Admission is included with museum entry and ranges from free to $12. This is a wonderful opportunity to explore the intersection of art, nature, and sustainability while enjoying an afternoon of learning and delicious treats.
