Allison, Milton Suggs, and Quiana Lynell. Jazz at Lincoln Center Presents brings the soul of New Orleans and the spirit of Mardi Gras to the California Center for the Arts Escondido. This vibrant concert celebrates the legendary composers and timeless songs that define the Crescent City, the historic epicenter of jazz.
From the pioneering sounds of Jelly Roll Morton and Louis Armstrong to the modern influences of Ellis Marsalis and James Black, New Orleans has long been a hub of musical innovation. Led by the talented pianist Luther S. Allison and celebrated vocalists Quiana Lynell and Milton Suggs, the New Orleans Songbook will immerse audiences in the captivating essence of this dynamic city.
For over three decades, Jazz at Lincoln Center has been a vital force in advocating for jazz, culture, and arts education globally. Under the leadership of Wynton Marsalis, they have brought the rich art form of jazz to over 446 cities in more than 40 countries. The JAZZ AT LINCOLN CENTER PRESENTS touring initiative not only showcases rising stars in jazz but also enriches communities through exceptional programming that entertains and educates.

About The Mission Bay Preservationists: The Mission Bay Preservationists is one of the nation’s premier traditional youth jazz bands, featured at venues throughout San Diego County and California. The band has traveled to New Orleans six times where they performed and studied with the renowned Preservation Hall Jazz Band. In 2025, they will be traveling to perform in Japan for the 4th time, celebrating the 68th anniversary of the San Diego/Yokohama Sister City Society ‘s Exchange Program.
