About the Team:

Jordan Beck is a theatrical producer, writer, and director. Since 2008, he has produced over 200 unique theatrical events including cabarets, Broadway shows in-concert, and fully-staged musical productions. Since 2015, Beck has served as the Executive Producer/Director of The Barn Stage company which he co-founded with Artistic Director J. Scott Lapp.  He self-produced the monthly Caffeinated Cabaret series in Downtown Riverside prior to co-producing the popular Cabaret at The Merc series in Old Town Temecula. As a director and instructor, he has worked with numerous youth theater organizations including CAT Corona, Riverside Children’s Theater, and LifeHouse Productions.  For the last 8 years, he has co-produced “Rising Stars”, an annual concert celebrating the emerging talents of Southern California performers between the ages of 10-18. 

J. Scott Lapp has worked in the theatre business for over 30 years, performing in over 100 shows in and around San Diego County. He is an award-winning Director and Choreographer with over 75 productions under his belt, having worked across the United States as well as internationally. He is an alumnus of the Director’s Lab West and a member of the SDC (Stage Director’s & Choreographer’s Union).  Highlighted credits include Bonnie & Clyde on Broadway, the National Tour of Murder for Two, Disney’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and The Prince of Egypt on the West End.  In addition to his numerous professional credits, he has worked extensively with a number of youth organizations including Moonlight Youth Theater, and CYT San Diego.

Our community has spoken, and we are responding – San Diego wants and needs more professional theater.  We are prepared and honored to bring more inclusive, high-quality live-theater experiences to San Diego in hopes of furthering The Center’s greater mission of uniting the community by discovering, creating, and celebrating the arts together.

The Center has served the community for over 25 years. We must leverage our assets of beautiful physical spaces and strong operational teams to share our mission across North County San Diego.

We hope to be known as more than just a venue – but as a leader in arts education in our home community and beyond.
