Writing With Pictures

Past Museum Exhibitions: 2015: Writing with Pictures

July 11 – September 13, 2015
Writing with Pictures is a multi-media exhibition that tells the story behind the creation of the picture book: why we love them, and their widening audience and role in the 21st century. This exhibition features original published artwork from local illustrators, and from artists working with local writers. Every picture tells a story! Curated by Joy Chu, who is the art director and designer of numerous picture books and teaches
“Illustrating Children’s Books” at UC San Diego Extension.

Artwork and Video Credit: Rafael López, Drum Dream Girl, written by Margarita Engle, published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt
