“Chris Botti has a trumpet sound that suggests the softer side of luminosity, the realm of sunsets and half-moons and low-wattage incandescence.” –New York Times

Escondido, CA — Thursday, November 10, 2016 — The California Center for the Arts, Escondido is proud to present master trumpeter and composer Chris Botti for his debut performance at the Center on Friday, April 7, 2017 in the Concert Hall at 7:30 pm. With four #1 jazz albums, Botti has emerged as the top selling American instrumental artist. Botti’s creative expression begins in jazz yet expands beyond the limits of any single genre. His latest effort, Impressions (Columbia Records: 2012), features Andrea Bocelli, Vince Gill, Herbie Hancock, Mark Knopfler and David Foster. His stellar parade of albums prior to Impressions includes his critically acclaimed debut album When I Fall In Love (2004), To Love Again: The Duets (2005), Italia (2007), and the CD/DVD Chris Botti in Boston (2009).

Botti’s accolades include an array of multiple Gold, Platinum and GRAMMY® Awards. His album, Impressions, won the GRAMMY® Award for “Best Pop Instrumental Album” at the 55th GRAMMY® Awards in 2013.

Botti is a brilliant bandleader who lets his players shine, and a natural born showman whose joy at being onstage is infectious. Hitting the road for as many as 300 days per year, Botti has performed with many of the finest symphonies at some of the world’s most prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall, Hollywood Bowl, Sydney Opera House and the Real Teatro di San Carlo in Italy. He has shared the stage with an array of legends such as Sting, Barbara Streisand, Tony Bennett, Lady Gaga, Yo-Yo Ma, Frank Sinatra, Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell, and even Frank Sinatra.

Experience Chris Botti to understand why many musical legends eagerly share the stage with him on April 7, 2017!
